Gieves & Hawkes is an iconic luxury brand offering a custom tailoring experience. As part of their launch in China, Like Digital created a compelling Virtual Reality experience showcasing the rarely-seen artefacts from the Gieves & Hawkes archive within No. 1 Savile Row.
We proposed creating a state-of-the-art 360-degree walk-through of the store, with rich touchpoints to give the full luxury brand experience. Employing interactive video filmed on site enabled us to create an immersive virtual environment. Over three consecutive Sundays, Like Digital scoped out the space with the help of the in-store staff, and carried out test shoots using drones and a specialist 360° rig. A full 360° video was compiled into an iOS app for consumer launch in China with the option for the user to choose traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese or English.
The full VR experience has also been embedded on the UK Gieves & Hawkes website. The film was edited into twelve versions: one long and three shortened in each of the three different languages. Text was then added to highlight key hot-spots around the store such as the Royal Bodyguard uniforms and various pieces made for the Royal Family.
