…Or your earlobes, as it were. In so many ways our world is moving at breakneck speed, and we are always looking to increase our knowledge and learn from other experts in their fields. So of course we are big fans of podcasts.
If you haven’t gotten on the podcasting train yet, here’s a starter list of our favourites to wet your knowledge appetite:
Actually a radio show that is also published online, Radiolab explores a whole range of topics, often in story form. From science to philosophy and technology to current events, we love their perspective and ability to make topics that we might normally pass over completely fascinating.
The WIRED podcast
Always interesting, WIRED UK publishes a weekly podcast examining their latest stories, including top news in the worlds of science, tech, and design. New episodes come out every Friday, and will keep you up-to-date on all the latest gadgets and innovations from around the world.
If you haven’t heard of S-Town yet, you are missing out. From the makers of “This American Life”, this seven-part true crime story is better than most fictions, and the compelling narrative pulls you in from episode one. Set in small town Alabama, the twists and turns woven by narrator Brian Reed will have you binge-listening.
TED Radio Hour
Love Ted Talks but don’t have time to watch them? Now you can get your fill of these snappy topics wherever you go! Renowned for dissecting complicated topics in layman’s terms, once you start listening you’ll find it hard to stop.
Another NPR classic, this podcast is hosted by Lulu Miller, Hanna Rosin and Alix Spiegel, and is all about the hidden forces that shape our lives and behaviour. With a definite psychological slant, they deep dive into topics such as your future self, personality myths, and the nature of reality and our perceptions.
